Independent Practice Division
The Independent Practice Division, IPD, strives to keep our membership at the cutting edge of independent practice. We inform the New York State practitioner about emerging clinical issues, tools and opportunities. We address the ethical and legal problems intrinsic to new areas of expertise, and increase the business acumen required for a growing practice. IPD is your resource for adapting to the challenges of a rapidly changing professional world. WORKSHOPS IPD co-sponsors events with other NYSPA divisions and regional psychological groups in NYS. We also host free workshops for our members. Topics include clinical trainings as well as business strategies to improve practice. SERVICE We exist to serve our members and our community. If you have a project that enhances our effectiveness or the lay awareness of psychology, please contact us. AWARDS IPD awards thirteen NYSPA student memberships each year and co-sponsors the Grace Lauro Award for research. GOVERNANCE Executive Board Meetings are held at 8:30PM, on the third Thursday of each month in Manhattan, September through June. At our monthly meetings, we plan future events, allocate money, and network. We encourage IPD members to consider becoming active! Please contact one of the Board members if you would like to participate. IPD members outside of Manhattan are welcome to call in to the meeting via conference call. We represent psychologists throughout New York State.
Division Dues Independent Practice Division Dues are $35 annually. Must be a current NYSPA member to join. Student members are exempt from Divisions dues and should contact the NYSPA office at nyspa@nyspa.org to join any Division. |
