The Embodied Healing Path: Integrating Evidence-Based EFT With Somatic and Embodied Therapies for Trauma and Emotional Regulation

Sunday February 1, 2026  | 10:00 AM -12:00PM ET

(2 CE Credits)

Program Description

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), commonly known as “tapping,” has gained increasing empirical support as an effective intervention for reducing stress, trauma symptoms, anxiety, and somatic distress. Grounded in contemporary research and clinical practice, this webinar examines the neurophysiological mechanisms shared by EFT and somatic therapies, including their effects on limbic regulation, vagal tone, interoceptive awareness, and the body’s inherent capacity for self-repair.

Case examples, and experiential demonstrations, offer a practical, body-mind framework for integrating EFT with somatic/embodied treatment. Clinicians will develop skills to assess client readiness, sequence interventions effectively, and apply an integrated approach to diverse presentations, including anxiety, traumatic stress, dysregulation, and medically unexplained symptoms. Emphasis will be placed on attunement, pacing, and the therapist’s own embodied presence as essential components of the work.
This training is designed for psychologists, mental health professionals, and practitioners interested in expanding their somatic competencies while incorporating EFT with greater clinical clarity and confidence.

Speaker: Pearl Lopian

Learning Objectives

By the end of this program, participants will be able to:
  • Describe at least three neurophysiological mechanisms that support the effectiveness of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)
  • Identify  two  clinical indicators and client presentations that suggest when EFT can be appropriately integrated with somatic/embodied interventions to enhance affect regulation and trauma processing.
  • Develop a case-informed treatment plan that incorporates EFT alongside somatic/embodied methods, using body-based cues and clinical observations to guide intervention selection and sequencing.
