The New York State Psychological Association (NYSPA) has been a pioneer organization for psychology in America. NYSPA has been at the forefront of professional advances and has established many firsts in psychology. It was the first state psychological association; the first group to press for legislation recognizing the professional of psychology; and the first psychological organization to adopt an official code of ethics (McCarthy, 1956). NYSPA is a 501(c) 6, Not-for-profit Professional Trade Association.
NYSPA Mission The mission of NYSPA is to advance the science and practice of psychology as a means of promoting human welfare.
