The Division on Addictions of the New York State Psychological Association is excited to announce its upcoming conference on November 1, 2024. As always, our conference offerings are aimed at clinicians in private practice, those working in institutional settings, students, trainees, policymakers, and any stakeholders in advancing our core goals. Topics at this year’s conference will include: panels on process addictions like gambling, eating, and out-of-control sexual behavior; on integration of harm reduction principles with other forms of addictions treatment and support; and a live demonstration of chair-work psychotherapy; and a presentation on psilocybin-assisted treatment of addiction.

CE Information:

6 CE credits will be available for full day attendance for psychologists, licensed social workers, licensed mental health counselors and CASACs, according to the approvals described below.


Participants who wish to receive CE credits must attend the event (each seminar meeting) in its entirety; attendance will be recorded to track each participant’s entry and exit time at the conference. Participants who wish to receive CE credit sign in and out to each session under the monitoring of an individual who remains at the door of each event.


Participants with physical or sensory disabilities are encouraged to contact the CE committee members at least 2 weeks in advance of the event to plan for appropriate accommodations. Please contact us via email:  psychologyce@newschool.edu .  Participants may also contact CE committee members with any concerns. You may also share concerns when you receive your evaluation form after the event.


The New School for Social Research Clinical Psychology Department is approved by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Psychology, the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work, and the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Mental Health Practitioners to sponsor continuing education for psychologists, licensed social workers, and licensed mental health counselors, respectively. The New School for Social Research Clinical Psychology Department is also approved by the American Psychological Association, to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The New School for Social Research Clinical Psychology Department maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Confirmation of attendance is also available for CASACs.

Cancellation & Photo Policy:

The New York State Psychological Association will accept refund requests made in writing no later than Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. ET. Registration fees are not refundable after this date.
