NYSPA’s 2019 President

Dear NYSPA members,

I hope everyone had a meaningful holiday season.  As we start a new and exciting year, I would like to assure everyone that, due to President Herb Gingold's leadership, the transition will be smooth and I will be able to hit the ground running.

As NYSPA members you are our true secret weapons.  We have so many people who have created professional lives that represent the diversity of having a doctorate in Psychology.  Each one of you has contributed to improving our society and you should be lauded for your commitment to the mental health of our community.

For those of you who have stepped up to leadership positions within NYSPA, thank you for your time and energy.  You have helped create an organization that has established itself as the "voice of psychology"
in New York.  NYSPA is known within the New York Legislature as the group to talk to when addressing mental health issues.

For those of you who are not involved- join us as there are many opportunities to make an impact and we will welcome you!

It will be a year filled with interesting and useful programming, continued advocacy work and an amazing annual Convention at the Queensbury Hotel in Glens Falls, New York from June 7th-9th. Our committee is working hard to develop programming that will attract all of our members - this year we especially want to support our members who would like to bring their families! The theme of the convention is Self Care/ Professional Care and we will be providing many opportunities and resources to help you take care of yourself and your professional life.

Whether you get involved directly or not, we need your help.  Speak with your colleagues and convince them that belonging to NYSPA is the right thing to do for their professional lives.  More members translate to NYSPA having a bigger impact, providing more resources for our members and developing programs which our members need and want.
