The Psychological Association of Northeastern New York (PANNY) seeks to advance psychology as a science and profession and to promote the welfare of the people of Northeastern New York. As a regional association, PANNY is affiliated with the New York Psychological Association as well as the American Psychological Association.
As an association, PANNY:
- Is devoted to issues and concerns of psychologists in the capital region
- Provides opportunities for the exchange of ideas among psychologists
- Cooperates with other community groups in the promotion of mental health services
- Promotes public understanding and use of valid psychological principles
- Assists in the maintenance of ethical standards in the professional practice of psychology
- Advocates for psychology as a profession
- Protects the public interest
- Is committed to the education of psychology students
- Promotes professional educational opportunities for members and students
- Recognizes local outstanding contributions to psychology and mental health
- Provides information to the public regarding local psychologist’s services
PANNY members include licensed psychologists who work in a variety of settings. Associate, Professional Affiliate, and Student memberships are also available. New members are welcomed. PANNY membership includes:
- Regular mailings of The Forum, PANNY’s newsletter
- Inclusion in PANNY’s annual Directory
- Invitations to educational and social events throughout the year
