Academic Division

E-mail Print

The Academic Division has a unique role to play in an organization that is principally concerned with the practice of psychology. Its goal is to maintain the link between the practice of psychology and its scientific/research base, a link that is essential for the successful application of psychology. Its goal is also to assist psychologists in the areas of teaching and in conducting research throughout the state.

In pursuit of that goal, it sponsors poster sessions and research presentations at the annual convention, oversees the publication of the annual research issue of the NYS Psychologist, co-sponsors student conferences, honors the accomplishments of distinguished psychologists, and conducts a variety of seminars, programs, and workshops alone and with other divisions and institutions.
