Psychologically Healthy Workplace Awards (PHWA)
The Psychologically Healthy Workplace Awards (PHWA) of The New York State Psychological Association (NYSPA) recognize businesses and organizations that provide psychologically healthy work environments for their employees. These organizations offer programs and policies that foster employee health and well-being, directly enhancing organizational effectiveness.
Why Create A Psychologically Healthy Workplace Culture?
In the current environment of increased economic pressure, it is particularly critical that organizations value psychological health. It has been shown that stress and family issues can affect employees’ ability to cope, potentially leading to increased absenteeism, higher health care costs, turnover, and lost productivity. Workplaces that make psychological wellbeing a priority will ultimately outperform those that do not, as well as retain excellent employees.
NYSPA will honor New York State’s businesses and organizations that demonstrate commitment to their employees, not only in the area of individual mental and physical health services, but also provide opportunities for:
- Employee Involvement
- Work-Life Balance
- Employee Growth and Development
- Health and Safety
- Employee Recognition
NYSPA WILL SOON BE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2012 AWARDS!
