Webinar: CPT Codes with Dr. Puente

Coding, Billing and Documentation of Professional Psychological Services

The current shifts in health care require that critical attention be paid to coding, billing and documentation in clinical practice to survive, thrive and avoid the pitfalls of audits.  This didactic workshop will focus on best practices for coding, billing and how to document your services while providing professional services to your clients.

Specific materials, formulas, and problems for understanding each of these facets as well as their interaction will be covered.  Specific emphasis will be placed on medical necessity as well as fraud and abuse issues especially as they relate to the new psychotherapy and diagnostic codes.  The presentation will include lecture, working case examples, and discussion.

Through this webinar, participants will:

  1. learn coding of professional psychological services in today’s environment,
  2. understand the basics of billing (including coding and diagnosing) third parties,
  3. appreciate the importance and methods for documenting services,
  4. more fully appreciate the interface between public policy, financial, and clinical issues.
