WCPE, the educational arm of the Westchester County Psychological Association is sponsoring an all-day conference on April 20th titled: “A Clinical Look at the Opioid Crisis: What Do We Know?  What Can We Do?”  It will be held on April 20th at Phelps Hospital, Sleepy Hollow (A few miles from the Tappan Zee Bridge).  Presentations will include a panel discussion featuring the County Health and Mental Health Commissioners, a pain management doctor, a pharmacist, a police chief, and an EMS supervisor.  Clinical presentations will focus on treatment, support, weaning from Suboxone, dual diagnosis/co-occurring disorders, and where to find the right supports if you have a patient misusing opioid medication.  Narcan training is available at the end of the day on a first come, first served basis (kits are limited).
