Healthcare reform is changing the way healthcare will be delivered throughout the country. While driven by a national policy the details of how this will happen will be worked out in each state


Part 1: Rhode Island’s Innovative Practice Strategy:
The Rhode Island Primary Care Physicians Corporation- Behavioral Health Network


Dr. Peter Oppenheimer will discuss the policy, legislative, regulatory, market and cultural issues that are at play to implement healthcare reform, and RIPCPC’s efforts to develop a strategy to transform primary care and behavioral health practice to meet the needs of the future.

Dr. Peter Oppenheimer is Vice-Chair of the Rhode Island Primary Care Physicians Corporation Behavioral Health Network. Rhode Island Psychologist's are implementing the collaborative care project they have been developing with the state’s largest Primary Care Independent Practice Association


Part 2:  Oregon's Innovative Practice Strategy:
Protecting Independent Practice by building IPA's


Dr. Michael  Conner will present a simple process necessary to form an IPA. He will present the Connective Care Model used in Oregon . This will be presented in several useful variations.

Dr. Michael Conner created the first comprehensive online primary care mental health screening, education and referral system. He is the architect and designer of a high performance business model for Mental Health Independent Practice Associations (IPA'S).

*The afternoon will include Q & A and Donald Moy, Esq. of Kern, Augustine Conroy and Schoppmann, PC, an expert on legal and regulatory issues involved in the establishment of IPAs in New York state, will outline what New York state psychologists need to keep in mind when contemplating the formation of an IPA in New York.
